1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Carental website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to all the terms and conditions, you should not use our services.

2. Rental Requirements

2.1 Driver Requirements

To rent a vehicle, you must:

• Be at least 21 years of age (25 years for luxury and specialty vehicles)
• Possess a valid driver's license held for at least one year
• Present a valid credit card in your name for the security deposit
• Provide proof of insurance or purchase our insurance coverage
• Meet our eligibility requirements for driving record and credit status

2.2 Required Documents

At the time of rental, you must present:

• A valid driver's license
• A credit card with sufficient available credit for the security deposit
• Proof of insurance (if not purchasing our coverage)
• Additional identification may be required

3. Reservation and Cancellation

3.1 Reservations

Reservations can be made through our website, via phone, or in person at our locations. A valid credit card is required to secure a reservation.

3.2 Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time will receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 48 hours before pickup may be subject to a cancellation fee equivalent to one day's rental.

4. Vehicle Pickup and Return

4.1 Vehicle Pickup

Vehicles must be picked up at the scheduled time. A grace period of 30 minutes is allowed, after which the reservation may be canceled if we have not been notified of a delay.

4.2 Vehicle Return

Vehicles must be returned to the agreed location by the specified return time. Late returns will incur additional charges at the hourly or daily rate, plus a late fee.

4.3 Fuel Policy

Vehicles must be returned with the same level of fuel as at pickup. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel, refueling charges will apply at our current rates.

5. Fees and Charges

5.1 Rental Rates

Rental rates are as displayed on our website or quoted at the time of reservation. Rates do not include optional services, insurance, or additional fees.

5.2 Security Deposit

A security deposit will be authorized on your credit card at the time of pickup. The deposit amount varies by vehicle type and will be refunded upon the vehicle's return in acceptable condition.

5.3 Additional Fees

Additional fees may include:

• Insurance coverage
• Additional driver fees
• Young driver surcharge (for drivers under 25)
• Late return fees
• Refueling charges
• Cleaning fees (for excessive dirtiness)
• Traffic and parking violation processing fees

6. Insurance and Liability

6.1 Insurance Options

We offer various insurance options to provide coverage during your rental period. Basic insurance is included in all rentals, with premium options available for purchase.

6.2 Renter Liability

The renter is responsible for:

• All damage to the vehicle not covered by insurance
• Loss of use of the vehicle during repair periods
• Traffic violations and parking tickets incurred during the rental period
• Damage caused by prohibited uses of the vehicle

7. Vehicle Use Restrictions

The rented vehicle may not be:

• Driven by anyone not listed on the rental agreement
• Used for illegal purposes
• Used to push or tow other vehicles
• Driven off-road or on unpaved roads (unless in an appropriate 4x4 vehicle)
• Used to transport hazardous materials
• Driven outside the agreed geographic boundaries
• Used for ride-sharing or taxi services

8. Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy, which can be found at Privacy Policy, is incorporated into these Terms and Conditions by reference.

9. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on our website. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
